This morning we had breakfast with a dear friend who moved away last summer, and a couple other friends of hers as well. One woman brought her five-month-old daughter, who is adorable.
But oh, the dexterity envy! Her daughter can reach out and grasp things, and put them in her mouth. I am so jealous. I mean, I can grasp things and put them in my mouth, too, but I'm eager for Ellie to reach that milestone.
Our friend with the five-month-old commented at breakfast, "What does it say about humans, that we can laugh before we can walk?" Good point. Sense of humor is key.
