My first child, Abigail, was stillborn five weeks before her due date, in August 2008. Thankfully, our second child was born healthy and screaming (with joy, I'd like to think) 18 months later.
While Abi's loss shot me into a world of grief and sorrow, Ellie's skyrocketed me into a world of happiness and - holy shit - infant care. So here I am, just a foodie trying to figure this whole parenthood thing out without burning too many dinners (or traumatizing the baby).
Side note: Not really that good a cook. Or that bad a mommy.
