My child, the suuuuper-genius

So, this afternoon, our daughter discovered her feet.

*bursting with pride*

She's two and a half months old; most babies are around five months when they do this. Obviously, this means my baby is twice as smart as most other babies. Haha! Just kidding! Sort of.

Of course, she is still a baby. Later this afternoon we spent 30 minutes playing the pacifier game, where she spits out her paccy, gets upset that it's gone, fusses til I put it back in, and spits it back out. It's a fun game. I'm not complaining; I love every minute we spend together. We also enjoy the blanket game, where I put the blanket on her and she kicks it off; repeat ad infinitum. It's adorable how pleased she is each time she kicks it off.

Heyyy, good lookin'....

Man, I love cooking with my little assistant. I'm glad it finally occurred to me to put her in her highchair and move it into the kitchen while I'm there. For one thing, it's much easier to replace her pacifier every minute and a half without completely fucking up dinner.

But also, I love being able to talk to her while I'm cooking, giving her bits of culinary advice that she'll never remember, giving her random kisses between cutting up vegetables, and so on. I keep hoping she's enjoying the smells of the food and somehow absorbing my love of cooking.
